Gaza: Palestinian and Israel - Voice of Russia - UK Edition

At least 40 Palestinians were killed today by Israeli shelling in the Shejaia district in northeast Gaza, health officials said. The mass casualties were the heaviest since Israel launched its offensive on the Palestinian territory on July 8 after cross-border rocket strikes by militants intensified. Israel, which sent ground forces into Gaza on Thursday, said today it was beefing up its military presence there.

The news in Israel does not make easy reading. It effects real people in this popular area of the world. Everyone are hoping for peace some time soon. Until then its good to understand what is going on in the area. The Voice of Russia UK reports the news as objectively as possible in 2014. Boko Haram is an organisation responsible for kidnapping lots of children from school a few months ago. You may remember the appeals made by Michelle Obama to return the children.

Boko Haram are trying to get attention for Western aid for oil and this is perhaps what is motivating the escalating violence.

A Malaysian passenger plane carrying nearly 300 people has crashed in Ukraine close to the border with Russia. Malaysia Airlines confirmed via Twitter that it lost contact with flight MH17

Valery Seleznyov is trying to get help for his son Roman Seleznyov who is detained for alleged hacking and currently held in a confined us detention centre. The allegations are about credit card fraud. Without adequate medical assistance Moscow says the boy could have long term bad effects to health or worse still die.
