Supermarketshelves

Ben Delicious writes from London: Cases of people browsing at the supermarkets, unable to afford to buy food, are on the rise. Yes, whole families now go into supermarkets to ogle food and watch wide-eyed as people, who still have jobs and plastic to burn, purchase groceries -  seemingly without doing anything.

The last figure on record shows a 20 per cent rise in shoplifting, missing the £5 billion mark by a whisker. Still, where there’s a will to survive and no money to spend, goods would continue to disappear from the shelves in growing numbers. Ben Delicious writes via (stirringtroubleinternationally.com)

Jaywalking

Adam Lovejoy writes from London: There are a lot of brave people around nowadays. Their courage is often not noticed and, on occasions, they even end up on the receiving end of anger. Yet, they continue doing what they do, those silent heroes of modern times. Yes, I’m talking about jaywalkers,

jaywalkers, the brave men and women of different ages and cultural backgrounds, who cross the roads in front of speeding cars, without any regard for their own safety, feeling proud and walking tall.

Industrialchina

Asking why it is increasingly difficult to do business in China. Beijing is making it more and more difficult to compete. It favours its own companies.

Life is getting more and more challenging for foreign businesses here. When Deng Xiaoping launched the capitalist revolution in 1978, he set up special economic zones along the east coast of the Middle Kingdom. Labour and safety laws were relaxed and the peasants who rushed to become industrial workers could be paid a pittance.

Asking why Spain is in such a financial mess. The reason is that the centre does not have the power to force the 17 regions to do its bidding. The result is that economic news is getting worse by the day.

Mario Lopez writes from Madrid The reason why the national budget deficit is rising is because Madrid is bailing out failing regions. The deficit is ballooning and, at the present rate, will reach about 80 billion by December. Not surprising retail sales are down – 10 per cent in April compared to last year. Some retail sectors fell 15 per cent. Can it get worse?

Thomas adds an interesting comment Just as most people are becoming aware that there is no point going to court in order to try and resolve a dispute, because nobody knows what the law is anymore, a judge in Florida has made a proper decision for a change and has proclaimed a Holy Day for atheists. Ted Obvious writes from London: How come Social Media has been hijacked by politicians, celebs and mainstream media hacks with such ease? They should have been be kept away from it. Hundreds of thousands and even millions of mugs – I have no other word for these people - follow these creeps religiously.
Socialmedia

The ease with which the Social Media was turned into an instrument of blatant promotion for publicity hungry politicians and celebs is astonishing. It turns out that millions of mugs out there actually believe that they might pick up something useful from reading the drivel that the incompetent and corrupt servants of the people and brain dead celebrities post on their blogs.

you don’t really need to be a genius to know that if you shag you first cousin, things might not turn out the way you expect them to turn out. If Mr Darwin couldn’t even grasp that simple evolutionary principle what could he have known about natural selection and other more complicated things?

Cameroncleggclowns

Thomas Mathew writes from London: With the clowns running Britain these days you’d expect comedians to have enough material for thousands of routines. They don’t even need to invent anything, just tell about things as they are and it would be enough to have audiences rolling with laughter. In fact…

More From Thomas Mathew:

Consider this: we’ve got an unelected coalition running the country into the ground, doing its best to cover up the great banking swindle, with billions still wasted on propping up the banks through dodgy schemes like ‘quantitative easing’, while forcing ordinary people to accept cuts to their budgets and blowing money on illegal wars, and yet not one funny man or woman find this hilarious and have a go at the culprits.

And we’ve got people like PM David Cameron and his sidekick Nick Clegg, heading a government without a mandate, dragging the country down, and even that doesn’t seem to interest comedians.
